I have a friend who is in my Mafia in Mafia wars. We are at the same level. My energy takes 5 minutes to recycle. His only takes 3 minutes. Why the difference?

I got addicted to playing Mafia Wars on facebook, but I couldn't figure out how to play more without having to spend real money to get Godfather points, and recruit people.
