Hi, I’m Terra Barnes, 28, from San Diego, CA and this is my blog about Mafia Wars. I want to share my excitement and knowledge about this game that I love playing so much.

I’m not a hardcore gamer. I never really was into console games and I only played solitaire on the PC. But when I stumbled upon this game called Mafia Wars on Facebook, I voraciously played the game almost everyday.

I must admit that I sucked at this game initially. I was always behind my friends in rankings which was frustrating.

Time, that a full time employee like me, don’t have.

When you are weak in Mafia Wars other players that outrank you will usually attack you for gain. I had this very problem during my early game plays. I was attacked almost everyday by this one jerk. The attacks really depleted my money and my energy was spent mostly gaining back the sum I lost.

The other problem I encountered with the game is the fact that you need a lot of time on your hands to really get your game going. You need to work, work, work and take a lot of jobs to make very little money. This also takes a lot of time to wait for energy to replenish.

Who has the time to sit around the PC all day waiting for energy to replenish?

I was also afraid to piss off my friends because I was always pestering them to join my Mafia family. This is a big problem since you really need to “beg” people to join your mafia family. Mass emailing your friends will only irritate them. They may even un-friend you for being an annoying pest.

There are also a lot of weapons and armor that I couldn’t seem to get. I looked at FAQs and Help Files but I couldn’t find any way to get these special items.

As silly as it sounds, I got jealous when I heard my friends bragging about a new awesome weapon that they just got.
